About

Beast: noun \ˈbēst\

1 a: any animal as distinguished from a human being; any large, four-footed animal; sometimes, specif., a domesticated animal b: a monster

2  : an individual who excels in their craft

Undoubtedly, the word “beast” has various definitions, but nationally acclaimed graphic artist, illustrator and entrepreneur Eric Nine is inventively fusing the aforementioned interpretations to produce one of the most imaginative, uncanny and shocking portrait series in the city of Atlanta.

Eric Nine, a proud Atlanta representative for the past eight years, wanted to infiltrate the confines of the traditional art show format and accomplish two goals in the process: showcase the profusion of talent Georgia’s capital city possesses in various facets of art and, second, personify his fondness for the supernatural.

Due to the demands of his fledging design business that primarily services the urban market, Eric Nine has always been in contact with the best musicians, DJs, photographers, journalists, promoters and emcees who are responsible for keeping Atlanta’s population in tune with the latest in the world of art. Maintaining relationships and following the careers of these various trendsetters, Eric Nine hand selected some from the top tier who were what he considered “beasts” at their particular crafts. What better way to portray their excellence than to make them literally beasts.

Combining the forces of phenomenal photographer Michael Moore from Studio 8, Eric Nine set up photo sessions, provided a few props and directed them to the exactness of what he envisioned. After choosing the best photo, he took it back to the lab, exercised his mastery in Photoshop and other computer design applications, and began making his legion of beasts come alive. The last step before unleashing the Beasts was to add the final element: world renowned writer Dennis Malcolm Byron aka Ale Sharpton. Besides killing ‘em with his awesome beer coverage, www.AleSharpton.com website, and Cruisin’ For A Brewsin’ show, D aka Ale freelances for numerous magazines including JEZEBEL, JET, Upscale, J’Adore, Men’s Book, XXL, etc. Well Eric stepped to him since they have been friends for years and wanted to know if he could scribe original descriptions fused with bio info on all the featured Beasts including his own, Wrap City. Without blinking twice, Ale happily accepted and officially became the third element of the I’m A Beast Movement. Ale will continue to be the wordsmith and help with the creative for this killer site, along with various other projects in the future.
With this much combined beastly artistry, be afraid. Be very afraid.
